Mark 1:44-45

Mark 1:44-45

Jesus said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.” However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was outside in deserted places; and they came to Him from every direction.

Mark 1:44-45

The healed leper’s exuberant disobedience in spreading the news about his healing, while well-intentioned, actually hindered Jesus’ ministry. This serves as a reminder that our testimony should always align with God’s purposes. As we experience God’s work in our lives, we’re called to bear witness in ways that glorify Him and further His kingdom.

Think about how you share your experiences of God’s goodness. Are there ways you can testify that draw people to Jesus rather than just to your story? Take some time today and pray for wisdom in sharing your testimony and for opportunities to point others to Christ through your experiences.
