Mark 3:7-10

Mark 3:7-10

… And a great multitude from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea and Jerusalem and Idumea and beyond the Jordan; and those from Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they heard how many things He was doing, came to Him. So He told His disciples that a small boat should be kept ready for Him because of the multitude, lest they should crush Him. For He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to touch Him.

Mark 3:7-10

Can you imagine looking over a multitude of people that are all looking to you for help? Jesus faced immense pressure from crowds seeking healing, yet He remained faithful to His mission. In our lives, we often face external pressures that seek to distract us from God’s calling. With Jesus as our example, we must learn to balance meeting needs with maintaining our spiritual focus.

The enemy would love to distract us, even with doing good things, if it will derail us from our focus on Jesus. It probably wouldn’t be difficult to identify an area of pressure in your life. How can you remain faithful to God’s call while navigating this challenge? Quite simply, ask God for the strength to stay compassionate yet focused on His purpose for you. He’s very capably to bring you both.
