Mark 5:2

Mark 5:2

And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit.”

Mark 5:2

I don’t think many can fully comprehend the pain that the man of the tombs was in. But I do think we can all relate to him; sin does to us what these demons did to this man. It drives us to dark places and takes us captive. It makes us hurt ourselves and others. It can leave us hopeless and living in a spiritual graveyard.

But just as Jesus came and set this man free, so too, does Jesus set us free from our sin. I love the end of this passage, because we see this once crazed and hopeless man, sitting in his right mind, fully clothed, and sitting before Jesus’ feet.

We can have that same experience with our Lord. We can go from dead in our sins, living in a spiritual graveyard, to sitting alive and well at Jesus’s feet. What a great Savior we have in Jesus!

Out of the tombs,
