“Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.”
Jesus, in His prayer model, transitions to the topic of our everyday physical needs; not wants. We can ask the Father to provide for our daily food; not our daily feast. But keep in mind, God really does care for all those little things and details we encounter. He desires for us to bring Him into every part and aspect of our daily lives. Much like we would check in with our spouse to see how their day went, God wants to be involved in everything.
We can also ask the Father to provide for our deep spiritual needs, with forgiveness topping the list. You never have to wonder if you need to be forgiven. When we experience this kind of forgiveness in our relationship with God, it has a healing power in our relationships with others and we are willing to forgive as we are forgiven.
Bring Him into the details,
