Matthew 7:15, 2 Timothy 4:1-5

Matthew 7:15, 2 Timothy 4:1-5

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

Matthew 7:15, 2 Timothy 4:1-5

We can get pulled in so many different directions and in a world full of competing voices and ideologies, discerning truth from falsehood is crucial. Jesus and Paul both warn us about false teachers who may appear genuine but lead people astray. So how can we develop spiritual discernment? It starts with knowing God’s Word deeply and staying rooted in sound doctrine.

Examine your own life – what sources are shaping your beliefs and worldview? Are you grounding yourself in Scripture or being swayed by popular opinion? Do you spend more time on a news feed or a Bible read? Commit to deepening your knowledge of God’s Word as your defense against deception.
