Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy- meditate on these things.
Philippians 4:8
If you are like me, my mind and thoughts can be filled with all kinds of things. Some are good, and some are not so good. Here, Paul encourages us to fill our minds and thoughts to meditate on godly things. It is our choice and our decision each day what we are going to fill our minds with. If I am watching the TV all day or listening to less-than-godly music, I am probably not meditating on anything praiseworthy.
But when I open God’s word, go to church, have fellowship with fellow believers, and have quiet time with my Lord, my mind and heart will be filled with godly things. I will be meditating on those things that are praiseworthy.
