Proverbs 10:19

In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.
Proverbs 10:19

Solomon reminds us that it is wise to restrain our lips, to keep our mouths shut! It is so easy to point out faults in others, and it is so easy to tear someone down. And if we are talking too much, “sin is not lacking.” In other words, you keep talking, and eventually, it is going to be evident that there is plenty of sin there.

Try this. Next time you can say something sharp or unkind to someone, just close your mouth. Don’t say it! And the next day, think about it. I think you will be glad you restrained your lips! I have never regretted it.
