Proverbs 23:23

Buy the truth, and do not sell it, Also wisdom and instruction and understanding.
Proverbs 23:23

Solomon here told us we should buy truth and not sell it, reflecting the fact that the truth of Scripture is an extremely valuable commodity that we should invest all to gain. We serve the God of all truth (Psalm 31:5), who has given us His word of truth (Psalm 119:160), sent His Son Jesus full of grace and truth (John 1:14,17), Who is the Way and Truth and Life for us. He then gave us the Spirit of truth (John 14:17), sealing those who had embraced the word of truth (Ephesians 1:13), the believers, the church, the pillar, and ground of truth as Paul told Timothy (1Timothy 3:15).
Collectively, we are then sent out to proclaim the truth of the Gospel (Colossians 1:5), which, when people hear it and receive it, is the truth that will set them free (John 8:32). May our Lord each day fill you with His truth from His Word giving you wisdom and instruction and understanding (John 8:32)!
