Psalm 119:114

Psalm 119:114

You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.
Psalm 119:114

As time goes by at this strange juncture in history, the thought that plagues the minds of many is, “What’s coming next?” From pandemics to gas prices, everything seems out of control. Waves of political and social unrest continue to crash upon our society with unreconcilable damage. The wicked narratives that threaten to steal the minds and innocence of our children continue to be forced upon us. Many are overwhelmed and feel defenseless from this continual onslaught of wickedness, leaving us with one prevailing desire. Where can we hide from all this?

Our text of consideration answers this question. We hide in God and hope in the truth of His Word. We cry out as David did, “Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge until these calamities have passed by” (Psalm 57:1).

We gain God’s perspective as we make Him our hiding place and His word our Hope. As we hide in Him and hope in His word, we begin to see as He sees. The longer we hide in Him, the more hope we find. There is no security in this world. There is only security in Christ.
