Psalm 130:3-4
If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.
Psalm 130:3-4
I love reading verses in the Bible about the Lord’s forgiveness. It’s a proof of His love and His mercy and it helps me get through the day. Because just as this verse says, if the Lord marked iniquities, or counted sins towards our account, who could stand? We might think, “It sure is good that in Heaven, we’re going to have a clean slate and we can rejoice when we’re there,” but this verse applies to our time now.
Without the Lord’s forgiveness, we’d all be in trouble. Our sins tend to weigh on our minds and bum us out, to the point it’s hard to function during the day. What keeps us going is the fact the Lord doesn’t count those sins and does forgive us.
What we need to remember to do is ask for that forgiveness. In 1 John 1:9 it says, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This forgiveness allows us to have an unhindered relationship with the Lord and have peace in our lives instead of guilt.
Thanking the Lord for His forgiveness,
