Psalm 147:11

Psalm 147:11

The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy.

Psalm 147:11

The psalmist begins by declaring that, “it is good to sing praises to our God,” and then proceeds to explain why. God is merciful, and He heals the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:2-3), and He lifts up the humble (Psalm 147:6). God has infinite understanding, and He is mighty in power (Psalm 147:4-5); He covers the heavens with clouds, creates the rain, causes the grass to grow, and provides food to the animals (Psalm 147:8-9).  Yet He does not delight in the awesomeness of His power and in the majesty of His creation (Psalm 147:10).

Instead,  He takes pleasure in His people who fear and hope in Him. What a humbling thought!  This Psalm paints a beautiful picture of the powerful and Almighty God of creation who loves us and wants to be involved personally with His people.  What a blessing it is to be called a child of God. He loves us so much that He sent His son Jesus to save us from our sin in order that we can be reconciled to Him! Praising Him along with you today.
