Psalm 23:1-4
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:1-4
Even in his torment, the man from Gadara ran to Jesus when he saw Him. That’s why we need to be reminded that In our deepest pain and darkest valleys, God’s presence remains constant. We have all experienced God’s comfort in times of suffering. That is His Shepherd’s heart shining through.
The most beautiful truth revealed in all of the Bible is, I believe, the doctrine of prevenient grace, which simply means that before you were ever pursuing Jesus, Jesus was pursuing you. So, a helpful reminder is that Jesus as your shepherd is leading you through difficult terrain. Trust that He is with you, guiding you towards still waters and restoring your soul. He’ll take you through.
