Psalm 34:1-3
I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.
Psalm 34:1-3
Sometimes, in church, you may hear the phrase or even the exhortation that we are to live a lifestyle of worship. Worship is not just the singing we do at the beginning of service, but anytime we exalt God in song, word, or deed, we are submitting to His Lordship and praising Him for His love, grace, and mercy. As David writes in this Psalm, our constant verbiage should be praise and blessings to our Maker. And the promise that comes from this attitude of gratitude is that it will lift the spirits of those around us. Someone who is truly submitted to God and is happy about it becomes contagious.
This little passage ends with an invitation for others to join in the celebration of God’s goodness and magnify Him. You don’t have to wait for the next church service; you can worship the Lord right now and then watch those around you rejoice and join the chorus.
