Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

There is something about human nature that just makes us want to solve every problem ourselves. We don’t want help, we want to prove how clever we are or how self-sufficient. That wasn’t David, the writer of this Psalm. He had many enemies and many problems, but he trusted in the Lord to take of them.

Why don’t we have more trust in God? He’s proven Himself time and again in our lives and yet the next time a problem comes around, we forget about the Lord. David says cast your burden, whatever it is that’s weighing you down, on the Lord. God will take that burden and sustain you. It’s not on you, it’s on God!
