Psalm 61
Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah. For You, O God, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name. You will prolong the king’s life, His years as many generations. He shall abide before God forever. Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him! So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may daily perform my vows.
Psalm 61
Psalm 61 is the 11th in a series of psalms beginning in Psalm 51 where we find David crying out to God in various calamities he is facing in his life. God has recorded for us in the psalms many of the prayers of David so we might learn how to pray to find comfort and hope at His throne of grace. They are all wonderful practical lessons from life itself as the man of God seeks the hand of God to be his comfort and help in time of need.
There is absolutely no better way to grow in faith than by hearing the Word of God, hiding it in your heart, and applying it to your life. Go back for a moment and read Psalm 61 again, this time applying it to your walk with God. Have a great day!
God is so good to me,
