Psalms 27:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

David could have very easily made a theological statement about God here. He could’ve said, “The Lord is light and salvation”, but he didn’t. David, the man after God’s own heart, made it personal. The Lord is MY light. He is MY salvation. 

I pray today that you embrace the personal nature of our Lord. Yes, He is light, but He is also YOUR light. He is salvation for all who would believe but He is YOUR salvation today. Resist the urge to know about God and take time to get to know Him personally.
