Romans 12:12
Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.
Romans 12:12
Rejoice in hope, check! Be patient in tribulation, we will maybe… Be consistent in prayer, check! It’s funny how comforting God’s words can be to us in times of trouble. And it sure feels good when His will aligns with our desires and direction. But why is it so hard to be patient in tribulation? The rest of the verse is great, but why was that ugly middle part inserted?
I understand God gives good gifts and answers our prayers in His perfect time and way. So I feel for those who have had hope and continued in a steadfast prayer life only to find themselves still writhing in tribulation. But be of good cheer. All of the writings of the gospel are true and will be fulfilled. And that includes your petitions to God. I would encourage anyone who is going through a difficult time to re-read the book of Job and see how good God can be even when we can’t see it. Stay the course and love the entirety of the verse and the promises contained in every chapter of the gospel. He is faithful until the end of time and evermore.
God Bless,
