Romans 12:4-5
For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
Romans 12:4-5
Here in Romans 12, Paul reminds us that as the church, the Body of Christ, we are all in this together! We are more than family; we are individually members of His body and individually members of one another. And so, Paul talks about serving God, and each other, with the different spiritual gifts He has given to us.
Did you know that you have a spiritual gift? You do! And that gift was given to you to encourage and strengthen others in the church. You see we need each other. So how has being part of your church strengthened your faith? If you are like me, it has strengthened me in so many ways. My faith has grown because of the regular teaching of God’s word, by the great example of faith and agape love that I see in my brothers and sisters. And by God working through the many different gifts of the Spirit through my brothers and sisters.
I encourage you to reflect on the unique gifts God has given you and how God might use these to build up others in your life? My brothers and sisters, look for an opportunity to serve and encourage someone in the Body of Christ, and as you do, you’re strengthening the entire body of Christ.
We need each other!
