U-Turn for Christ
provides men and women with the resources they need to overcome the bondage of addiction. True freedom from the bondage of alcohol and drug addictions can only come from a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. U-Turn offers two phases in their program.
Prayer Changes Things!
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
Phase 1
Participants spend a minimum of two months at one of our U-Turn for Christ Ranch locations. Participants stay in military-style quarters, one large room filled with bunks. This type of housing promotes healthy fellowship. “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend” (Proverbs 27:17). Throughout the day, participants are involved in morning devotions, daily chores, volunteer community service, evening Bible study, and nightly personal devotion time.
Phase 2
Is six months long, and comes with two possible paths to travel. Some return to work, pay a monthly donation, and attend church with first phase in the evening. Others are chosen to commit six months of service to the Lord, and are provided for by the ministry. This last choice comes with considerable sacrifice. Servants of Christ can be called on at all times to serve in many different ways. The six month period does not have to be the end. Many who return to work stay a year or more choosing a higher level of accountability and fellowship for their lives. In addition, many who have stayed on to serve in ministry are now serving at other facilities in the United States, and around the world.
Servants of Christ
As servants of Christ, we can help by praying for the men and women who serve in this ministry as well as the men and women who must come to know Jesus and then give their lives to Him. Pray that the Lord would show His grace and love and free them from the bondage of sin.
Get Involved
As a church, Morningstar visits the men’s facility in Perris, California on the second Saturday of each month. We meet with the men, worship together, share the word of God, and pray with them individually. If you feel the Lord is calling you to help us serve in this ministry, download a Ministry Application and hand it in at the Information Counter, or call the front office and ask to speak to the outreach ministry overseer.
