1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Paul has been taking chapter 15 of 1 Corinthians to teach the church at Corinth about the importance of the resurrection and about the heavenly bodies that believers will one day inherit. At the end of chapter 15, he gives us the application and encouragement of those things — be steadfast and be busy serving the Lord.

What a great verse for today! Stand fast in the knowledge of Christ’s resurrection and what it means for us. Stand fast in the knowledge that this is only our temporary home. It reminds us to put our mind on eternal things, which is why Paul says now go and abound in the work of the Lord. Get busy serving, storing up treasures, and being a light to the world.
