1 Corinthians 4:1-2
Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.
1 Corinthians 4:1-2
Paul tells the Corinthian church to consider him, and other early church leaders, as servants and stewards. And then he says a good steward is faithful. Paul knew that what God desires and cares for most in our service is our faithfulness. He doesn’t need us or our skills, he is the one who does all work spiritually when we serve. So all he desires from us is faithfulness.
This should be comforting to know that when we serve, whether it be in Sunday School, in worship, or simply stacking chairs, that God simply requires us to be faithful. He will do the rest.
In faithful service,
Pastor David Reeves
