1 John 3:9-10
Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.
1 John 3:9-10
How do we know who are children of God? By two clear marks: practicing righteousness and loving our brothers and sisters. A life that habitually sins without conviction or change reveals a heart that hasn’t been transformed. But those born of God cannot continue in sin as a lifestyle because God’s seed—His nature—remains in them. This isn’t about perfection; it’s about direction.
Is your private life consistent with your public profession? Do you love God and love others? These are the acid tests of genuine faith. The grace that doesn’t change your life won’t save your soul. So, examine your heart honestly. Are you practicing righteousness? Are you loving your brothers and sisters? Let your life be a response of worship to what Christ has accomplished for you.
