1 Peter 1:6-7

1 Peter 1:6-7

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:6-7

We all have trials. I don’t know anyone who has ever said their life has been without hardship and suffering. Peter teaches us here that those trials are for a reason: they purify our faith.

God puts us through the fire of trials to purify our faith. And just like the fire that purifies gold, trials remove impurities in our lives. It’s not fun, but we may be found to glorify God in the end.

Trials also show us the genuineness of our faith as well. Untested faith is not to be trusted. But one day, you will be able to look back at all that God has gotten you through, and you will be able to praise Him.

Tested,

Pastor David Reeves
