1 Peter 1:6-7
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
1 Peter 1:6-7
Just as Jesus tested the Syrophoenician woman’s faith, our faith is often tested through trials. Peter compares this testing to the refining of gold, suggesting that the end result is more precious than the trial is painful. The Lord leaves you in the fire as long as necessary to make sure that your faith is purified. He’s going to answer your prayer, but he’s not going to do it a second early or a second late because he is after this genuine faith in your life.
What are some challenges you might be facing today and how might God be using this to refine your faith? Can you see any growth or deepening of your relationship with Him through this difficulty? If not, ask the Lord to show you.
