Luke 18:3-6
Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’” Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. The Syrophoenician woman’s persistence in seeking help for her daughter is a powerful example of intercessory prayer. Jesus’ parable of the persistent widow further emphasizes the importance of not giving up in prayer. Jesus cares for the intercessor as well as the object of our intercession. So, He goes to great lengths to develop our faith. Think about someone in your life who needs your persistent intercession. Commit to praying for them daily this week, trusting that God hears and values your persistent faith.
