2 Corinthians 6:14, 6:17

2 Corinthians 6:14, 6:17

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?

Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”

2 Corinthians 6:14, 6:17

One of the ways God has provided for us to be strong in our walks is to place us among the saints. This gives us good fellowship, accountability, examples to follow and set for others, sharing of His words, prayer, and support. Along with that, of course, comes this call from the Lord to remove ourselves from the undue influence of the world around us.

As God’s people we have no basis for fellowship with the world. Certainly God desires we go to the world to share His love and the Gospel of His Son, but we should not go there and find ourselves unequally yoked. Think of it this way: go out to the world for missions and outreach but turn to the body for fellowship and love.
