Psalm 133:1-3

Psalm 133:1-3

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!  It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments.  It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.

Psalm 133:1-3

One of God’s great gifts to us His people is the body of Christ, an ever-growing family of saints that are together walking with Jesus in a world that is not their home. There is great strength to be found for us in the unity of the brethren and I suspect that is why Satan so often seeks to disrupt the fellowship of the saints.

The psalmist here describes the blessings of being a part of the body with references that shepherds and others would quickly understand. He mentions oil to soothe from the heat and protect from the insects and dew upon the mountains which brings water and life to the field, even as the Lord brings life forevermore to those who have turned to His Son. Be sure you are committed to a fellowship and be blessed by it and be a blessing in it!

Love the body of Christ,
