Lamentations 3:22-23

Lamentations 3:22-23

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23

When our kids were young, we used to watch a kids T.V. show called Veggie Tales. Maybe some of you are familiar with it. There were fruits and vegetables running around reenacting Bible stories. There was once an episode about Jonah and the whale. It taught the kids that no matter how far we try to run from God, He is willing to pursue us and take us back with open arms and loving care. He is truly a God of second chances. As a matter of fact, I believe that was the title of the song in the cartoon, “He is a God of Second Chances.”

To this day, that song is still stuck in my mind, although I’m sure the kids have long forgotten it. But nonetheless, whenever I feel like I have drifted from my relationship with God, I think of that song and remember that He has already paid the price for my sins past, present, and future. God knows that as long as we are on this side of Heaven, we are going to make mistakes; a lot of them actually. But He still loves us and is waiting with arms wide open to receive us back. I am thankful that I serve a God of second chances and so do you. Let’s never forget that we have never gone too far that we cannot come back home and be restored.

God Bless,

Paul Provencio
