Nehemiah 9:16-17
“But they and our fathers acted proudly, hardened their necks, and did not heed Your commandments. They refused to obey, and they were not mindful of Your wonders that You did among them……”
Nehemiah 9:16-17a
I remember awhile back talking to a friend of mine about doing projects around the house. And he said that he had just bought a new power saw. And I told him I just borrow my neighbors when I need a power saw. And he said, ”Oh, so you one of those neighbors who is always borrowing things.”
Centuries before these verses, Moses had warned the people not to forget God and all that He had done for them. But we find that eventually the people didn’t thank God in times of blessings. The only time they looked for God was in times of trouble and suffering. That happens even today.
And that got me thinking, if I had a neighbor who came over only when he wanted to borrow something, after awhile, I would start to wonder whether he wanted to spend time with me, or does he just want something?
As God’s kids, let’s remember every day the privilege we have to be able to spend time with God. Not asking Him for anything, but just praising Him for who He is!
Love spending time with my Lord,
