For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
The phrase “From faith to faith” here means “from start to finish,” and every day we are given the opportunity to demonstrate God’s work of faith in our lives. Throughout our lives as believers, the Lord is orchestrating the events of our life, giving us opportunities to allow “the righteousness of God” to be revealed as we put our trust in our Savior. But the moment we take our eyes off of Jesus and look at the world around us with all of its difficulties and problems, faith in Jesus gives way to fears in our lives.
It was through faith in the Gospel message that we were saved, and it is by faith that we now live in this world, trusting in the word of God. Just as Paul wrote in Colossians 2, “As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.”
