Joshua 3:3

And they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it.”

In the verse above, Joshua commands his officers to tell the group, ”when you see the ark of the covenant come by, get up and go after it.” What a great picture of God’s desire for His kids!  “Keep your eyes on Me.  Follow Me!” 

The thing is, we are so easily distracted aren’t we?  I remember being at a technical work seminar a few years ago down at the beach. I was sitting towards the back of the room.  And soon I found myself staring out at the window looking at the waves coming in and not listening to the speaker at all.  That is how we are sometimes when it comes to the things of the Lord.  We can get our eyes off of God. 

Joshua 3:3 is a good reminder to keep our eyes on Jesus.  Each day, get up and go after Him!
