2 Chronicles 14:11

2 Chronicles 14:11

And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, “Lord, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!”

2 Chronicles 14:11

Before the above verse, Judah was being attacked by a million men and 300 chariots from Ethiopia. That’s a huge army to have to face, so Asa, Judah’s king, could have panicked and had every reason to do so. Instead, he did what we all should do when the odds are against us, pray!

Asa had great understanding of the Lord. Lord, it’s nothing for You to help, so we’re going to trust in You. So many times, we tend to fear because we forget how powerful the Lord is.

The verses after this one say, So the Lord struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled. And Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Gerar. So the Ethiopians were overthrown, and they could not recover, for they were broken before the Lord and His army. Asa trusted God, prayed to God, and ultimately God answered His prayer. Remember there is nothing the Lord can’t do, so fear not!
