Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

The definition of rest is a state of ceasing from work, activity, and motion. In God’s word, we are called to rest from our own labors in trying to please God with works and find our salvation and rest in the finished sacrifice made by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

But it does not stop there. From what Jesus tells us here, it is that same ceasing from our own labors and turning to Him that will give us daily rest and wisdom that can only come from Him. Are you yoked (tied) to Jesus today? What is He teaching you? And as you follow Him, is that rest He promised you filling your heart? 

Finding rest in his ways!
