1 Samuel 17:45

1 Samuel 17:45

Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defiled.”
1 Samuel 17:45

Goliath was a force to be reckoned with. He was scarier and bigger than all the other Philistines, and he would have caused anyone to tremble in their shoes. But when David confronted the giant, instead of thinking twice, he proclaimed the power of God as his defense and rushed into battle to meet him. David did not let his size or the size of his enemy shake him from what had to be done. The Bible tells us in verse 48 that “David ran toward the army to meet the Philistine”

The world will always try to throw scary things in our faces. As a child, I was usually the one who flinched easily. It wasn’t that someone was actually trying to hurt me; it was just that my initial reaction was to turn away, and it gave others great satisfaction to see that. However, when we become children of God and are reborn, we become re-equipped with bigger and better-than-ever battle gear. Our armor now consists of what God can create in and around us and no longer what we can build and put our trust in. God wants to equip you with state-of-the-art spiritual technology that can take on anyone who dares oppose the God of Israel. You truly are armed and dangerous to the powers of evil. Flinching no longer applies to us with God on our side.

God Bless,
