Philippians 4:12-13

I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:12-13

Paul, arguably, suffered more for the Gospel than anyone except Jesus. And at the end of it all he says that he could endure the suffering because of Christ’s strengthening. Whether he was in jail or free, full or hungry, that Christ will be there with him every step of the way. 

These are verses to write onto our hearts. It doesn’t mean that everything will be easy or go our way. But it does mean that in every season or circumstance we can be content knowing that Christ will give us the strength to endure. 

Today, let us be reminded of the fact that we have a Savior in Heaven that will be there for us in our hours of greatest need. And in that we can rest content.
