The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 10:10

Jesus told the religious crowd that day and He reminds us here in this verse that He came that we might have life and that more abundantly.  And that is what we have in Jesus.  Abundance!  Religion and the law don’t bring life and abundance.  It is our relationship with Jesus!  So simple and so true.

So, what is abundance?  The definition is “plentifulness of the good things of life, prosperity.” It is easy for me, sometimes, to focus on the difficulties I have in this life.  Not sure why!  And it takes getting into the Scriptures, it takes worshipping God, it takes listening to that still, small voice to remember that I have a lot of good things in my life.  Plentifulness! 

Jesus has come that we might have life and have life abundantly.  Let’s live in that abundance each and every day and thank the Lord for all His blessings!
