Galatians 1:6
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel.
Galatians 1:6
Paul wrote the Galatians letter to people who were turning from following the pure grace of Jesus to the legalism of following the Law, the first five books of the Bible. People called Judaizers were telling the Christians, yes, you’re saved, but your salvation depends on continuing to follow the Jewish law.
There is always something that takes us away from following Jesus. In Paul’s day, it was the Judaizers, the principle of which still exists today. Nowadays, it might be called deconstructionism, in which people will say they’re just examining the Bible closely to draw closer to God or changing the Bible so people aren’t offended by being called sinners.
I know people who have left the church for a variety of reasons and I ask the same question as Paul, how could they turn away from the grace of Christ? If someone or something is trying to give you a different gospel, those are the people you should turn from and turn back to following Jesus!
I have decided to follow Jesus,
