Psalm 27:7-10; James 4:8

Psalm 27:7-10; James 4:8

Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation.
When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Psalm 27:7-10; James 4:8

In the midst of his troubles, David heard God’s invitation: “Seek my face.” This simple command carries profound implications. God doesn’t just want our requests or our service – He wants us. The invitation to seek His face is an invitation to intimacy, to know Him deeply.

Consider how you typically approach God. Do you come mainly with requests, or do you come simply to be with Him? Practice sitting in God’s presence today without an agenda. Just be still and know that He is God. If distractions come, gently return your focus to Him. Remember David’s resolve: “Your face, Lord, I will seek.” Make this your heart’s declaration as well.
