1 Peter 4:1-2
Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
1 Peter 4:1-2
As we face trials and suffering, Peter calls us to “arm ourselves” with the same mindset as Christ. This means adopting an attitude of victory and simplicity, focusing on God’s will rather than our own desires.
It’s not always easy to maintain Christ’s perspective in a given situation; so how can you shift your focus from temporary discomfort to eternal purpose? We need to consciously choose to view our challenges through the lens of Christ’s example. How did He face adversity and challenges that seemed insurmountable? He looked to the Father as we should look to Him, with total surrender, and then we need to simply follow in His steps.
