Ephesians 5:1-2

Ephesians 5:1-2

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Ephesians 5:1-2

Jesus gave us a new commandment: love one another as I have loved you. This is not optional—it’s imperative. Our love for one another is the evidence of our love for God and the mark that identifies us as His disciples. But here’s the beautiful truth: we’re not called to manufacture this love from our own strength. We’re called to be imitators of God, distributing to others the unconditional love we’ve received from Him.

When you’re aware of how patient God has been with your inconsistencies, it becomes easier to extend patience to others. When you remember how God keeps no record of your wrongs, you can release others from their debts against you. The command to love is fulfilled not through willpower but through abiding in the Source of love. Keep yourself in God’s love, and His love will flow through you to a watching world.
