Acts 4:18-20, 29
So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”… Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word.
Acts 4:18-20, 29
The early apostles, like John the Baptist, faced intense opposition for proclaiming God’s truth. Yet they responded with boldness, asking God for even more courage to continue their mission. Be aware that in our increasingly hostile cultural climate, we too may face opposition for our faith. Rather than retreating in fear, let’s follow the apostles’ example by praying for greater boldness and relying on the Holy Spirit’s power. Are there any situations where you feel intimidated about sharing your faith or standing for biblical values? Offer this to God, asking Him to fill you with His courage and wisdom. That’s a prayer He will always honor.
