Acts 9:3-4
As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
Acts 9:3-4
God chose Saul to reach the Gentiles, although here, at the beginning of chapter 9, he did not know it yet. He was the least likely candidate. God had to get a hold of his life in a mighty way.
Saul needed to fall to the ground to see that he was going the wrong way and doing the wrong things for God. Sometimes, God must knock us down to get our attention as well. Paul’s response in verse 6 was, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”
This is the perfect response to God. He loves to hear: “OK, Lord, I am listening; I will go where you call me and do what you ask of me.” I think we can all learn from Saul here how to be humble and submit to the Lord.
Going where he tells me,
