That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
In writing to the church in Colossae, Paul prayed that they would walk with God. As it says in the above verse, that they would walk worthy of the Lord. What a simple, but powerful exhortation this was from Paul. Walk with God!
What does it really mean to walk with God? Well, think about walking with someone, maybe your spouse or a friend. When you are walking together, what are you doing? You are going in the same direction and at the same speed. You can’t be walking together going in different directions with one going faster than the other.
It’s a basic and simple encouragement for all of us to go where God wants to go and to go at God’s speed.
Walking with God.
