Colossians 3:1-2
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Colossians 3:1-2
The disciples’ minds immediately went to bread when Jesus spoke of leaven. They were so consumed with temporal concerns that they missed the spiritual warning. Jesus gently redirected them: “Set your mind on things above.” This remains our constant battle. Bills, health concerns, relationship struggles, career decisions—these material realities demand attention. Yet Jesus calls us to elevate our perspective. He doesn’t dismiss our earthly needs; He promises to provide them as we prioritize His kingdom.
So, what about that financial pressure? That difficult conversation? Jesus isn’t asking you to ignore reality but to view it through an eternal lens. You already have Jesus—and He is enough. When worry rises, acknowledge it, then consciously choose to focus on God’s character, His promises, and His presence with you right now.
