Colossians 3:23

Colossians 3:23

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.

Colossians 3:23

Most, if not all of the things that we do, are rooted in a reason. For example, if you are in school, you study for an exam because you want a good grade. Why do we work? Because we need an income and want to be able to pay the bills or buy stuff that we want or need. Why do we want friendships or relationships? Because we don’t want to be alone.

In Colossians 3:23, we see what our main reason should be for any task we do. Jesus should be our main reason because we do all as unto the Lord. We should do everything as if God is the recipient of the act we are doing. When we remember that Jesus is the reason why we do all that we do, it impacts how we approach things, how we respond to things, and what motivates us to continue.
