Ephesians 6:4

And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

More than ever, men need to be the spiritual leader, example, and inspiration for their children.  Pushing our kids to the point of frustration and breaking their spirits with unachievable demands does not please the heart of the Father and draws our kids away from God rather than to Him.  

But if you’ll notice in the verse above, God doesn’t leave us hanging with a big “don’t.” He gives us what we should do instead.  We need to consistently and daily introduce our kids to the person and work of Jesus Christ. There is no better way to instill the training or discipline of the Lord into our kids than by example.  Do they see us exercising a prayer life?  Are we consistent and obedient in our devotion to God?  Our own heart toward the Lord will always speak louder than our words.  Love God, your kids will follow.
