Ezekiel 18:31-32

Ezekiel 18:31-32

Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!”

Ezekiel 18:31-32

God tells Israel through Ezekiel that they don’t have to go through this judgment, they can turn from their transgressions. God doesn’t have any pleasure in their judgment. But they have to turn from their sins.

In this, we learn God’s heart towards our sin, he wants us to turn from it, he wants us to cast them away. But he won’t force us. God has given us free will to choose Him, and choose to turn from our sins. His desire is for us to have life and freedom from the sins in our lives. He even promises to give us the strength to overcome those sins. But we have to take the first step away from our sins.

And in choosing to turn from our sins, we find life.

Turning and living,
