Hebrews 1:3

Hebrews 1:3

Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
Hebrews 1:3

Let’s look at this profound Jesus checklist:

“Brightness of His glory” – the Son of God eternally conveys God’s glory, majesty, and power from eternity past to eternity future. Saul of Tarsus was blinded by that glory on the road to Damascus.

“The express image of His person” –The Greek word, charakter, an engraved impression made by a die or seal. An exact duplication. The lines of Deity have been reproduced in Jesus’ humanity.

“Upholding all things by the word of His power” – not by physical strength but by His Almighty Word.

“Purged our sins” – from creation to Calvary, He is Creator and Redeemer. What had been poisoned by sin was cured by the blood of Christ.

“At the right hand” – God never leaves Christ on the cross but reminds us that the Lamb of God sits at the right hand of all Majesty.

All this begs a simple question, “Is Jesus ALL we will EVER need?” Answer, “Yes!”
