Hebrews 6:9
But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner.
Hebrews 6:9
The word “better” is constantly repeated in the book of Hebrews to show that the world and religion are a poor second to Christianity and Christ. I’ve once heard it said that if Christianity is somehow proven to be a hoax, it would still be a better way to live. Of course, the Bible is the absolute truth and the lifestyle God’s Word directs us to is FAR “better” than anything else.
In this verse, the writer reinforces his readers, and us, that he thinks “better” of them as he sees the things that “accompany their salvation.” The message is clear: from the point of our re-birth, an evident and measurable lifestyle should accompany our salvation. People should not only hear that we are saved, but they should also see that we are saved. So today let’s live for Jesus in word and deed and let’s show the world what it truly means to live “better.”
Living the better life,
