Hosea 4:1

Hear the word of the LORD, You children of Israel, For the LORD brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land: “There is no truth or mercy Or knowledge of God in the land.

Hosea 4:1

Hosea was a prophet sent to the northern kingdom of Israel warning them of the disaster and judgment that awaited them if they continued on this road of disobedience and idolatry. In 722BC the Assyrians would overthrow the northern kingdom. Here in one verse this morning Hosea offers an unbelievable statement, God could find no truth, mercy or the knowledge of God in the land! Sadly it reminds me of our land today. Each year we seem to be moving further and further away from the Lord and His ways. Yet it is to this generation the Lord sends us! Maybe take up the cry in prayer and share our faith often making a difference. May God be known and heard through the lives and words of His people. Ask the Lord today, to use you to assure our land does not meet the same fate.
